Wasn’t sure at first, but it develops into a nice romance (albeit with a classic 3rd act plot development). Enjoyed the author’s perspective on what it like to look for love. Was it predictable? Yes. Was it still entertaining? Also yes, especially if you are looking for that easy plane/beach romance with almost zero spice.

I really didn’t enjoy this book at all. I would have given 1 star, but the last several chapters were almost interesting, so I felt 2 was more accurate.
It turned out to be a lacklustre metaphor the whole time, and I guessed the ending less than half way through. Just not for me.

This is my favorite of Serle’s books. I thought the writing was really masterful. The difference between the telling of Jake’s storyline and Hugo’s made me feel what Daphne felt. The struggle with her secrets felt genuine, not manufactured like a lot of books I’ve read lately. Would definitely recommend.
3.5⭐️ Every time Daphne meets/ dates a guy she receives a piece of paper from the universe with his name and how long they will be together. Sometimes she gets weeks, months or a year. Until she meets Jake. She receives a paper with just his name no time. So he must be the one right?
Rebecca Serle books always have a little magical element to them. This one was so fun! This book also had a great message about timing, living life and finding love. There was even many plot twists I didn’t see coming. The ending was a great surprise. I wish this book was a bit longer. I really enjoyed the characters.
