This was on my older brother's bookshelf, along with several other plays. This one was one of the easier to read (not boring!), although I got so MAD. That scummy, crummy Iago! I could have throttled him myself. It taught me the lesson that rom coms would reinforce: Stop and listen to the other person's explanation or excuses, don't fly off the handle, and examine what you know of the person's character first. Otherwise, you will end up chasing her down in a taxicab screaming at her to forgive you before her plane leaves for Paris. Or, you know, strangling her.
read this in pretty much one go and i was suckered in big time. really, really wished for this to get a happy ending

Honestly a very comprehensible play by shakespeare. I must have read the word "heaven" a minimum of forty times but I'm sure that's some genius technique of his. Nonetheless an enjoyable story which does not shy from taboo or grit.
Update from second reading: gosh he really went to town on the word 'strumpet'. I have grown to become a fan of Emilia in particular. She speaks a lot of truths.
Update from third reading: read alongside the video of the RHS performance. I think the symbiosis of Othello and Iago is really intriguing and the irony of Othello being rejected for becoming a mirror of Iago's traits is really key to exposing colourist prejudices.
