Iago is a most wondrous villain! how ev'rything fiteth togeth'r in 'rd'r to frameth Desdemona wast merit. I still did like Romeo and Juliet bett'r; the poetry in th're wast most wond'rful and t wast v'ry comical.

A great production.

Shocking it was written over 400 years ago and yet it is still an incredibly refreshing, articulate commentary on racial insecurity and toxic masculinity. Othello is an insightful exploration of stripping characters from their agency through emotions of jealousy, rage, pride, and naivity. Each character breathed from the page and the language between Iago and Othello is satisfyingly rich, like eating at a luxurious banquet.

domestic tragedy is so interesting, and so haunting as a form of tragedy as opposed to something like macbeth or king lear.

This tragic tale by a young up-and-comer has much to recommend it by way of fluid and evocative language. But if this writer hopes to make any lasting impact, he'll have to try a little harder when it comes to his two-dimensional and rather dated characterizations of women; his improbably convoluted plot lines; and his penchant for bloody denouement. Could have been far worse, though.
