I liked this one better than Lear but not as much as Hamlet. I think the plot is pretty interesting and I like the characters overall. It's crazy that there's a black main titular character even though it was performed with blackface. But reading it, I wasn't super interested. Like overall plot, it's cool, but actually experiencing it and reading through, I got bored.

Such much mindfucking occurs in this book. Maybe a little too much for my liking. Hopefully when I'll discuss this in class I might understand it more.

what the flip

literally what did iago do all that for

Like watching (reading?) a car crash.

I wrote an essay on the frustration that Othello causes me. The pure fury at such a simple mistake that could solve everything al based on time and this particular timeline. Iago is peak Shakespeare villain of course. Brilliantly manipulative. Good grief I love Shakespeare.

Had to read this for my english 101 class but I was definitely entertained.

i think i read this for lit to film sophomore year (fall semester? maybe) either that or we only watched the movie or something i really can’t remember
adventurous dark tense slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This was possibly the best book I have read in an English class. Iago's ability to twist the words of others and his ability to gain the trust of others make him an excellent villain.
