I found this one to be a lot different from her other books. A lot more mature and covered a lot of topics. There was a lot of in-depth looking into the different characters and their lifestyles and their growth as they move forward. I think I’m more drawn to her YA works but I will keep giving these books a shot because I know she’s a magical writer

Story of a multi generation Dominican immigrant family with mystical elements. One who can see death throes herself a wake and the story of how those around her react and her back story. Interesting but super slow start and hard to get into

I stopped the audio book at 2hrs 58 minutes.

I want to get back to it for the maternal familial stories but for now, I think I can find that vibe elsewhere and be a little more interested in the story. I like the premise, but am currently unsure about the execution.
