This was a lovely story. Definitely saw the ending coming from a mile away but I loved the storytelling structure with the dual timeline and all of the Black history infused. 

The only thing that threw me off was the inconsistent head-hopping in the second half. But overall, my favorite book I read this summer!!

I wanted to like this book so bad. I loved Seven Days in June so I truly wanted to enjoy this book just as much. I honestly felt like the instantaneous chemistry these two characters were supposed to have just didn’t come across in the writing. It gave creepy instead of cute, and while I enjoy a good slow burn, this one just didn’t do it for me. I actually did like the whole sci-fi and historical bits, but other than that it fell flat.
