Absolutely lovely. I'm so charmed by the way the speculative element is wound in organically, supporting the emotional arc rather than distracting from it. Unexpected, original, and touching.

I enjoyed reading this book, for the first half of the book I wasn't much for Ricki's character but as the book went on she grew on me. I did guess the twist at the end far before it happened but it did tie up the story nicely. Ezra and Ricki's chemistry was great throughout, and I didn't mind the magical realism.

This book really surprised me. It definitely wasn't what i was expecting but I'm a good way. There was a bit of mystery and thrill to this book. The first half of the book I was really confused. I was thinking how are we jumping from the 1920s to the 2020s. But then everything comes together. I CALLED THE ENDING. I KNEW IT 😭 Ricki and Erza had a undeniable love. Soulmate love. And the sisters are mean for NO REASON.

So lovely and so beautiful. I wanna be Ricki when I grow up. 💫🌸🌻

First 20% was promising but then it all fell apart because you can see what’s coming from miles away and that is exactly what happens. Zero surprises. Zero believable plot. Zero quality romance. If it’s supposed to be a modern magical Harlem fairytale, then it’s not a very good one because I just rolled my eyes most of the time. There was no depth in this book, neither emotional nor plot wise. And I need at least one of those two to enjoy a book. But hey, I did finish it. It had some nice banter. I aspire to be like Ms. Della when I am old. I love a girl who wants to build her own life, away from family expectations. Just cut this crap of becoming instant besties with some celebrity or instant soulmates at first sight, okay?
