The Story

People don’t believe in Ricki Wilde. Not even her family. So what? Ricki believes in Ricki. That’s what matters.

When Ms. Della makes like a fairy grandmother and offers a new beginning, Ricki jumps at the chance to prove her worth by opening a flower shop right in the heart of historic, magical Harlem.

But fate is a clever, wicked mistress with a tricky sense of humor. For the mysterious man Ricki meets in a local garden is so much more than handsome—he’s her destiny.

My soul was FED!

Enchanting and totally hilarious.

What I Loved

I’ve never wanted to live the Harlem Renaissance more than I did while lost in that atmospheric third chapter!
A book rich with Black Pride, from the romance refined by true history to the mic-drop discourse about being Black limitlessness.
Approximately halfway through, my jaw hit the floor. I found the entire book to be endlessly compelling, but this changed the game.

What You’ll Love

A love story with magical prose and laugh-out-loud moments that will keep you swooning and giggling the whole way through.
You’ll be quickly attached to all of the characters, especially once Tuesday and Ms. Della get going with their witty quips.
An incredibly satisfying conclusion with a fantastic epilogue, which I enjoyed three times! 🥹
