I love Alexandra Bracken’s books so much! This one felt a little cliche at times but it still managed to surprise me and keep me hanging off the edge of my seat! I need the sequel right now!

I hope he redeems himself in the sequel because I really loved him with Tamsin

This felt too long and I was hoping for more Arthurian legend. I listened to the audio and didn't love the narrator so maybe would have enjoyed this more as a print book.

After having read Alexandra Bracken's Lore I was definitely curious to see the direction in which Silver in the Bone would go. The plot line was interesting and the story flowed well. I just wanted more of chapter development, but we have sequel for that.

I don't know really where to start with the review for this book as I feel there is a lot to unpack.

After reading the prologue I was left very confused and didn't really understand what was happening on it. It throws you in the deep end a little bit without much background or context and then leaves you with questions.

A lot of this book is learning as you go. There is world building, of course, but it's sprinkled through the book as and when it's relevant to the story so it takes a while to really understand the magic system and how it works and who it works for. I didn't mind this as the book went on but it did leave me a little confused in the begining.

Also I didn't really like the main character of Tamsin. I will say that she does grow on you through put the book and especially in the last 100 or so pages but before then I just found her to be too untrusting, pessimistic and cynical and it got a bit boring to read to be honest.

There are some really good supporting characters in this though, Neve, Olwen, Cait, Flea were all amazing characters and i loved them all for different reasons.

There is a slow burn romance in here which is enemies to lovers but it's not a main focus of the story and like I said is definitely slow burn but I have to say I did like it!!

Overall this was a pretty good read with pretty good characters, decent story, quite a few twists scattered throughout and I loved the take on King Arthur and Avalon. Would I pick up book 2? I'm not sure at the moment, it did end on a bit of a cliff hanger but I'm not sure I'm invested enough to pick up book 2.

i really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one to come out! i do think i could’ve used more Avalonian lore and backstory there and incorporated it better into the plot, but i liked that it was its own thing really and while used Avalon legend also incorporated other facets to make its own story.
