Over the years, I’ve heard so much about this book of friendship and loss that I decided to finally read it. The book is about a boy and girl who become friends after a schoolyard race. Jes helps the city girl, Leslie, learn about living in the country, and together they invent an imaginary kingdom in the woods where they are safe from bullies and teasing. In Terabithia they can also escape the real difficulties they face at home and share their dreams and hopes with one another.
So what’s not to like? Well, I’m not sure. I think middle-school-age readers would really love this book. But for me, it just fell a little flat. I liked it, but I didn’t love it.

this book is so so special to me. first book i remember reading and having an emotional reaction to. rip leslie you did not deserve that
I'd read the book when I was younger and saw it was available on libby and devoured it in one sitting. Then I cried 10/10 good book

I read this book when I was still in elementary school. It showed me that nooks could be sad and still be really good. It helped to grow my love for reading.
