It's a very wholesome novel, on par with "Where the Red Fern Grows" in the children learn tough life lessons department. It's charming, but simple. Unpretentious. The characters are everyday, ones that children can relate to. If I had read this a child, I hunk I would have been more effected by the tragedy, but as an adult it just seems like another one of those things we must cope with in life. A good bonding book, something to read at bedtime.

Bridge to Terabithia is a beautful book and I'm glad I re-read it this year.

First read: Someday I shall also grieve in a room painted gold where the sun warms in the low afternoon.

Second read: I am going to also stand in a forest full of yellow needles and listen to the stillness and speak to the Father.
Jesse and Leslie had a beautiful friendship but I am intrigued with Jesse’s little sister and the story that could be for her.

Probably one of the saddest books I read as a child..
