I don’t remember reading this as a kid. As an adult, it just reminds me of the movie “My Girl”. I enjoyed the friendship between the two primary characters. The ending felt abrupt. I’d like to know more about how this impacted him as he grew older and into his adulthood.

possibly 4.5 stars - this read had a very special aura to it, and I don't think I'll forget it anytime soon

Honestly, the book made me cry although the movie merely teased my lacrimal glands. The way the author depicts a bond so strong and so innocent, I could not help but give in to the water works. It talked of friendship, one that rarely comes by in a lifetime. They're friendship was spellbound and that gave magic to Terabithia.

OA ra.

Why.

A friend of mine committed suicide a few years ago. She gave me this book as a gift when we graduated high school together. I really love that friend and can no longer talk to her so this book will always be precious to me as something that I can reach for any time I am missing her. Inside, she wrote: "This is a book about friendship. Friendship that lasts forever, just as ours will." I love that and I like to think she's out there is some form or another still loving me just the same as she did when she was here.
emotional

This book was sad, but I really didn't get into it.

A sad but sweet story about friendship.

Still working on my Newbery winners.
