Exciting but a bit slow, and Murtry's bottomless arseholeness grew unbearably repetitive. I didn't really get the investgator interludes and they made me switch off, which then made the climax a bit hard to follow oops.

It’s great that the fourth book is back to the story telling style of the first two. After number three, I wasn’t much interesting in continuing, but of course would try one more.
The story flowed well, we didn’t get bogged down in useless words and boring story telling. Not fully realistic, but that’s fine. It was fun. I still don’t fully understand the interludes, they are strange. The Alina fight, no, that was bad. It was rushed and not great. Start with Bobbie, end with Bobbie, just so we don’t forget? Damn these books are fucking long.
“Right,” Holden said, “no coffee, this is a terrible planet”

It's a testament to how well these books are written that I can pick up book #4 SEVEN years after reading book #3 and understand everything that's happening.
I really enjoyed the story in this one and the new characters that were introduced. The authors' ability to describe an alien world in a way that really made it feel alien was impressive. Also, this was the first Expense book I read with my eyeballs instead of my ears, so seeing how everything was actually spelled was fun.

Another solid installment, if something of a filler book which seems to lay the foundation for story developments down the line.
The first half kept of the tension but I would have liked the stakes to be a higher later on down the line.
This series continues to deliver.

Great 4th book, cant wait to get onto the 5th! I hope we continue to see Miller in every book, such a great character. The author does a great job of slowly revealing the history of the planet while keeping up a great story of conflict in the foreground.
