This was a pretty good read, though it took forever to get to the interesting parts. This is fairly well expected from this series though. Once it was moving, it was very interesting. The ending made me want to read the next book, which, again, is pretty standard.

Another solid entry in The Expanse series. I appreciate the fact that each book is self-contained, but part of a large narrative. And like earlier reviews, I will echo the fact that I like being able to jump right into a story - due to familiarity with most of the main characters, and the overall world. But I do like the introduction of new characters as well.

It was interesting to see the (very obvious and deliberate) comparison to colonialism on Earth. (Even the name of the corporation in the book - "Royal Charter Energy" - which evokes "East India Company" or "Royal African Company" or "Hudson's Bay Company.") The fact that Ilus is so far from the "Sol" system definitely added to this - people making decisions (or justifying their decisions) based on the distance and time separation.

The overall narrative of The Expanse series continued a bit, but still a lot of mysteries.
