Concise and easy to read nice summary of how the media in our democracy is dysfunctional and serves the interests of the elites. He also explains that the prevailing mode of democratic organization is presupposed on that the masses and common people (aka you and me) are stupid and can't be left to control their own lives as opposed to what we're taught in civics class democracy is. It answers very plainly how this is possible given all those naive assumptions that people have that because we have freedom of the press in the bill of rights we couldn't possibly have a crappy self-censoring press with hidden biases (we do!)

A short but insightful book on the role of media as propaganda in the US. Also combined with a speech he gave about objective journalism. There is also a discussion of spectator democracy. Unfortunately, there is not much in the book in way of a solution.
The book is available at Pima County Library; that is as soon as I return my copy.

An easy to read, consice, if somewhat dated account of how the US government has used propaganda in positioning the ideologies of the people in order to fulfill their own needs.
Read as reaserch for my EPQ, and found several very interesting and thought-provoking points for which I am going to develop in the context of the modern British media.
