Potentially perpetually timely, this is the second Chomsky book I've read (the other also being from his lectures), and he always has morally clear, critical insights. I especially liked the thought experiment of the Martian and attempting to view US policy and media coverage how a truly objective outside observer might.
He also points out how incredibly uninformed most people in the US are about our foreign interventions and how that is a big success of an intellectual/media elite whose main goal is to justify US actions.
