This is a late 20th century novelization of an Agatha Christie play. The dialogue, as I understand it, is Christie's, but the rest is Osborne's. Osborne does not have any kind of feel for Christie's style--or even, really her characters, regardless of the fact that Christie's grandson claims, in a preface, that his grandmother would have been proud to write this. I'm sure she would not have been. I give it 3.5 for plot (Christie re-used a significant plot device from another, early novel--not too impressive!) and a 1 for the novelization.

I wondered how this could be a new Agatha Christie since I read all the mysteries available, maybe 40 years ago.
Sure enough it is adapted from one of her plays. It takes place almost exclusively in one room.
I don't think the author quite captures the Christie magic, but it was good to get access to a little more of her oeuvre.
