This was just phenomenal. You will never guess the culprit of the murders, and this is something that I love about her books so much. I can have so many ideas about who’s done the murder/crime and when it’s someone I never suspected I just immediately feel so pleased!

Hastings is back again to be his lovable but terrible detective self and I am always so pleased when Hastings is narrating. His friendship with Poirot is fun and you can see how well they get along with the little gibes they say to one another.

Poirot and Hastings vacation in Cornwall, where they meet Magdala "Nick" Buckley and her friends. He is soon convinced that someone is trying to kill Nick and here begins the investigation. Although Poirot tried to protect Nick, after a few attempted murders take place, a murder happens that provokes Poirot to mount a serious investigation.

Enthralling and ingenious. Once you pick up this book, you won’t put it down.

Mám rád detektivky. Mám také rád knihy v češtině, že nejsou velmi těžké.
Proto jsem přečetl rád touhle knihu : - )

Still the Queen of Mystery/Crime Fiction.

Not one of my top Agatha Christie’s, but I still give it five stars in relation to other fiction in its genre. I think I was a bit disappointed because I guessed the murderer and motive, and that’s never happened to me with a Christie novel. Don’t get me wrong the mystery was still both elaborate and detailed, and lead me down the garden path several times before I worked it out. Plus I didn’t guess everything correctly, there was still plenty that I needed Poirot to provide answers to. Speaking of Poirot, I found him particularly annoying in this one, treating everyone, including Hastings, as inferior to him. Guess he has a right to be, given how many difficult and unusual crimes he’s solved, and to be fair to him everyone he met did treat him as a celebrity detective, but his attitude did becoming grating at times. Nonetheless, still, an exciting and convoluted read. Highly recommend.

Hercules Poirot to every perpetrator: k*ll yourself❤️

No but seriously, why is Poirot so mean to Hastings in this one? Their every interaction was so hostile and nasty.
