This was a very powerful piece and I will definitely read volume two. A concept of the graphic novel that I was contemplating throughout reading was whether or not it was a good choice to have the mouse/cat concept. While it’s definitely an interesting take, it did almost make me forget that at times the genuine horror of the story as my mind thought “well they’re just mice.” I’d be concerned about the possibility of Holocaust deniers looking at this as a work of fiction due to the mouse concept. This might be me overthinking though. I’m curious to discover what made Art Spiegelman make this choice. Overall, a very interesting and powerful novel that I would recommend.

So informative and easy to understand, the format may not have been appropriate but it was quite symbolic while staying true to history

I read this book in school and loved it. It was an interesting format, different from other books on the holocaust.

I've wanted to read this graphic novel for a long time. Spiegelman's text and artwork are incredibly impactful.
