I give this book a 2.75/5. I have many questions, such as:
• Why was every girl she met gay?
•Why did she get no closure with Irene, was she even over her?
•How did she not drown from her muscles locking up at the end?
There are many more but I don’t feel like listing them right now. I also just wasn’t engrossed with her writing style. There were too many run on sentence, in my opinion. Lastly, she described herself as a loner at school but every girl she became friends with (except for Jane) liked her, and so did one of the boys. It just felt like she was a Mary Sue, but gay.

This is an all time favorite. It will break your heart and piece it back together over and over again. An ode to the power of community in the face of absolute tragedy, and a desperate call for an end to such tragedy. This is an immensely difficult read for anyone who grew up in a homophobic environment, but it is absolutely worth it.
