This was such a cute love story! Regina “Reggie” and Gustave “Gus” finally meet IRL after meeting online and forming a friendship. Love blossoms from there!
I loved the inclusiveness in the characters and how it was mentioned but not harped on.

This was my favorite pairing of the series so far.

The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 4 is that I didn't find the ending satisfying. For me it was too compressed. That being said, the book was still a great read and I love Alyssa Cole's work.

I absolutely love this book. I had that moment when you’re reading a book and you’re a few chapters in but then you realize that it’s gonna be a good book. There’s an immediate burst of excitement and a rush of energy to finish the book as quickly as possible. I loved both characters. They felt so real and they were flawed. I feel like sometimes I get trapped in stories where I expect characters to be perfect. But these characters weren’t like that. I loved when Reggie was described because I forgot she was black and it made me so excited. Also in general you don’t read a lot of books where the love interest are a black woman and an Asian man. Not only that but where both of the leads have disabilities. This book was just *chef’s kiss*. I can definitely understand why some people may not like this novella. The love connection was pretty fast paced. But I love that because I rarely get to read books where characters don’t dillydally all fucking day. Gustave’s bluntness and honesty were my favorite characteristics of his. I felt like both characters were authentically themselves. However, I did not give it a true five because the ending was so abrupt. I tried to turn to a new page and I was like is that it?! Didn’t like that but nonetheless a great book and I will for sure read again.

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5
Reading Order: Interconnected standalones. You should probably read book 2 first, but you could read this one first. It just spoils some things in the second book.
General Thoughts: I don't read a ton of novellas, but this is a novella at it's best. It felt full and rich and added to the story. I had been wanting to read Reggie's story, and so I'm so glad we got it. I loved all the diversity and representation in this one--disability, neurodivergency, multiple cultures, and more.
This was a cute, fun, fast-paced read. I loved this one. Both the characters were exceptionally well crafted. I loved seeing how their brains worked. It also doesn't ruin other characters in prior books, which is also a plus for me. Loved it!
Spice Meter: ❤️🔥❤️🔥 It was there.
