Dune is before its time in many ways. This space opera is indicative of many contemporary political issues of our time while being a medival fantasy thriller with sci-fy technology. It's extremely thorough world building is meticulously crafted and extremely thorough. It almost feels like you can't understand small parts of it without diving into another aspect of world building.
