Hob Gadling's storyline alone gives this a whole extra star, seriously one of my favourite stories ever.

Maybe it's because I read this at work, but I struggled to not compare this to the show. The characters aren't as fleshed out, and it makes some of the connections feel hollow (Rose and Jed had one interaction, 6 months after finding each other? Why?). I think it just boils down to different mediums, the art style really makes you feel like you're in a dream, a dream in a dream as it were, and that's not something I think can be captured on film. I think TV though gives it more time to flesh out the story.

I'm excited to keep going, because there currently no season 2 to compare the rest with.

I forgot how scary this series is! Can’t believe I read it as a teen. Had to skip over the serial killer convention. So many CW please take care of yourself.

That said I think the interwoven text of the sandman series is really strong in this one.
