Beautifully written but hard to read if you have lived through a similar toxic relationship. I have felt that scared and troubled so it hit hard. Relationships like this do exist so it is very true to life but hard to read for someone who has walked that tight rope.

Dnf at 40% or something.

I know I started this even though I totally hated the first book. I only started this one because the movie trailer came out and I got curious.

Here's another lesson for me, getting too curious is never good.

Here's the plot in shortcut,
1-Tessa Hardin get back together
2-They started living happily
3-Hardin starts doing his old shitty behaviour
4-Tessa gets frustrated
5-They breakup
6-Hardin says sorry
7-Repeat

And I finally realized this was the plot of the first book, and this is going to be the plot of this whole series.
I'm done totally.

I literally hate this series, but I can’t stop reading it. It’s awful and addicting and nostalgic for me. It always brings me back to my Wattpad days. The back-and-forth of these two will always piss me off.

This book was so frustrating at times. The two main characters don't know how to communicate and the relationship is very toxic. The book itself was way longer than it needed to be.

Tessa has everything to lose. Hardin has nothing to lose… except her. After a tumultuous beginning to their relationship, Tessa and Hardin were on the path to making things work. Tessa knew Hardin could be cruel, but when a bombshell revelation is dropped about the origins of their relationship—and Hardin’s mysterious past—Tessa is beside herself.

Hardin will always be… Hardin. But is he really the deep, thoughtful guy Tessa fell madly in love with despite his angry exterior—or has he been a stranger all along? She wishes she could walk away. It’s just not that easy. Not with the memory of passionate nights spent in his arms. His electric touch. His hungry kisses. Still, Tessa’s not sure she can endure one more broken promise. She put so much on hold for Hardin—school, friends, her mom, a relationship with a guy who really loved her, and now possibly even a promising new career. She needs to move forward with her life. Hardin knows he made a mistake, possibly the biggest one of his life. He’s not going down without a fight. But can he change? Will he change for love?

The age old question of can he change for me. Broken promises weigh heavy on a relationship and it is really hard to get through. The angst continues and at times it is hard to read. Tessa and Hardin's passion is toxic but they can't get away from each other.
