This was a really fun infection outbreak novel and I hate that cliffhanger so much. I must read the sequel to find out what happens next ASAP!
TLDR; a gang of disgruntled employees repeatedly violate health and safety guidelines by agreeing with their manager's insane decisions. Justice for the space proletariat!
It was intriguing and fun. Nothing more. Not too willing to continue. There are a few ideas I'd love extended, such as the thing or this bacteria remembering its name which is a wild idea to work with. Also the doctors and Cohens role in all this seems larger than it appears, yet i doubt this is going to be extended in the next book. Several characters were infuriating and one dimensional. It felt like their only purpose was to inject obstacles for the characters, given that the only action between the enemies and our protagonists is running and stabbing with a shock stick. But yes, it was fun.

This is a space-based thriller with a blood-borne disease that turns folks into zombies. The crew doesn't work very well together and just blunder into dangerous situations, and therefore few will survive the encounter.
I loved the characters in this and the atmosphere of the entire book was so eerie and tense, I really enjoyed reading it. A lot of the characters are named after my pets as well which was cool!
HOWEVER
I AM TERRIFIED OF ZOMBIES
I know its such an irrational fear but they scare me so much and I was not prepared for that, I honestly thought I was going to have to DNF it only because I'm a wuss. But I pushed through the fear and did really enjoy it, it was definitely a scary sci-fi which is exactly what its marketed to be!

Had a really good time reading this. Finished it in 1 sitting. Great pacing, engaging plot.

i’m really mad about the cliffhanger but this was pretty solid. i will never understand why ya authors feel the need to change POVs so constantly but still enjoyable
