Guys... think PAX from Firefly's movie except in a 28 days later format. This was written nicely but good god it was predictable and frustrating and I'm sorry sometimes mutiny is the answer. Shudda just said Dylan was compromised. Ugh...

Very underrated. If your thinking about reading this..... READ THIS. Its amazing couldn't put it down. The one issue I have with it, is its righting style. Other than that its 5 stars.

So... this book... I only finished it because I wanted to know what happened. But I came to LOATHE every character. It was stupid decision after stupid decision and the blind leading the blind... I won't be continuing the series. But I'll read a synopsis of the next books.
This premise held promise that I just didn't feel was adequately delivered when push came to shove. The pacing was a bit strange; the first two-thirds held my attention well enough, but the last third quickly went from boring to ridiculous. None of our characters were particularly likable, and I found myself caring much more about the seaweed than about any of the people. That really shouldn't surprise anyone who knows me though.
Perhaps I'd feel differently if I had immediately jumped into the second installment, but as my experience stands, this one was just kind of "meh". Really intriguing concept, with regard to the eponymous contagion, but execution... eh.
