This was a perfectly adequate “fluff” book. Very predictable but interesting enough to enjoy

This is a Hallmark movie waiting to happen, but you do also keep reading just to make sure haha. Ruby is annoying & one-dimensional & the plot is predictable from page 10.

Summer Island tells the story of Ruby Bridge, a rebellious stand-up comic who is estranged from her famous mother, Nora, a renowned advice columnist. When Nora is publicly humiliated and falls ill, Ruby reluctantly returns home to care for her, forcing both women to confront painful truths from their past. As secrets unravel and old wounds resurface, they begin a journey toward forgiveness, healing, and rediscovering the bond between mother and daughter.
