It took me a little bit to get the hang of the style of this book, but I am glad I stuck with it. I enjoyed how richly each of the characters were developed and how their stories overlapped in interesting ways.

Some of the stories are decent. Most contain a bunch of preachy aphorisms I could do without and eventually started skipping past/over. Even the decent stories go too far in their bid to make a point.
