I had really high hopes for this one but unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. It was difficult to become invested in the characters and because of that the story felt like it dragged on. The chapters were also not labelled with which POV it was so it was a bit disorienting between chapters, especially when an extended amount of time passed. But this book definitely delivered on morally grey characters and I felt that it had a lot of potential.

(4.5/5) A phenomenal sci-fi flavored dangerous romance, the main characters were wonderfully realized throughout. The book was paced very well and the ending both surprises and leaves you wanting for more.

Honestly not bad, but just not for me. Several parts of the book surprised me in a good way.

I get it. It's Bonnie & Clyde in space for teens. But like...why? What's the whole purpose of this book? They don't seem like they're having fun or being outlaws yeehaw (tm). Everyone is so s a d. And like yeah their lives are hard but Jiminy Christmas after the First Act I stopped feeling bad for them.
Cyrus and his side of things was way more interesting than the star crossed Lovers. Lots of predictability, but he had character growth and motivations that were *interesting*. Oy.

Also...I get it. They live in places without much sun. But like...do they all have to be Arian? Like the palest, whitest, blondest? And Ava is only different because she's *brunette* wow. It's space. Take a chance.

I did like the author's writing and prose. I think that's what kept me going, truly. So I might see what their next book is like.

Didn’t really get invested in the characters, really liked the ending though-very unexpected
