I really love Steven Universe. It took me a while to get into the TV show simply because of the art style. It was odd to me but I watched a clip from Jail Break and that was it. Ruby and Sapphire sold the show for me.
I felt the same way kind of with the comic. I wasn't all that sure of the art style during the first comic. It was pretty difficult to ascertain what was going on. But the rest of the book was really good. Plus the Where's Wally (Where's Waldo, for the Americans) section was a really nice touch.
Honestly, this is a nice little intro into graphic novels for younger readers. It's got some cute stories, cute artwork, all centred around some of the best characters on TV right now.

Most of this collection had the feel of the lightest episodes of Steven Universe, which is the highest compliment I can give.
This is not going to pull anyone into the series who hasn't seen it, but it is a fun diversion while waiting for the next Steven Bomb.

Honestly, the first story really confused me, but once I got past that and understood what was going on, I had so much fun! The art and colors and stories were beautiful and I’m excited to read vol 2!

Cute fun!! I wish some of them hadn't been in black and white, when the color ones were so beautiful. And I wish this was longer!

I really love the cartoon of Steven Universe. But I didn't really like the main stories illustrations. I enjoyed the side stories. I hope they choose someone else to illustrate these.

The first Steven Universe thing I've ever consumed. The stories were a little bit randomer then I was expecting/hoping, but overall I can see what the hype is all about. I'll definitely be looking out for the TV show, even if I would not necessarily recommend this to other noobs.
