I don’t like time travel or time jumping or whatever. I did like the premise of this thriller/mystery though. Jen is living time in reverse, hoping to prevent the murder her son commits. As she goes further and further back in time, she is starting to I wonder when it will stop and what the purpose of her rewinding is all about.

This book took me longer to read than I expected, I think partly because I didn't connect with the main character. While time moving backwards from a murder was an interesting concept, I was so annoyed by how long it took Jen to grasp what was happening and the implications of walking back in time. Maybe it's because of how often time loops/anomalies appear in Sci-fi that made this feel obvious to me, but how hard is it to realize the email you sent "yesterday" was actually tomorrow, so don't wait for an answer? In addition, I was frustrated by Jen's constant reflection on her ability as a mother and did her deficiencies as a mother/daughter/wife fail the people around her, etc. It was very repetitive and rarely expanded on had already been said. Her melancholy really took away from the tenseness of the mystery, as she was only sporadically focused on figuring things out.
I was planning on rating this much lower, but I really enjoyed the twists at the end and how the conclusion pulled everything together.

Fico muito feliz em dizer que eu não consegui adivinhar o que ia acontecer.
Até metade do livro eu não consegui criar nenhuma possível teoria, e daí a partir da metade do livro ele começa com plot twist atrás de plot twist. Eu acabei gostando mais do que eu imaginei que iria, não esperava nada e acabei de surpreendendo!

This was my first book with time travel, because of that that, I found it to be quit interesting. Time travel isn’t necessarily “my thing” but I enjoyed it in this book. It leads to a lot of provoking thoughts and questions. I didn’t love how the last chapter ended. Overall, it kept my attention and I felt like I got the turns and twists just before they were revealed.
