If you want a comprehensive look at women and war (their roles as soldiers, civilians, etc) then look no further. With examples spanning around the globe, Women and Wars is a great introduction to what women face in wartime. Each chapter was both broad and specific. I felt that it would be very hard to condense this book further than it was; beautifully edited. Each chapter could really be a book, but the editing was so good that each "essay" fit in with the following. This is a great introduction to women and war and I look forward to furthering my research.
