It really wasn’t my fav, the main character is a bit annoying tbh
Workplace romance + women in STEM!
After her hard earned promotion goes to the boss’s son, Tris receives one of two spots to attend the corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii. The other spot, of course, goes to the boss’s son.
She plans to avoid him for the three week retreat, but a hotel error forces them to share the honeymoon suite & the retreat continues to throw them together in activities.

✨forced proximity, work trip & same hotel room
✨one bed
✨workplace romance
✨rivals to lovers
✨women in STEM
I have mixed feelings about this one.
I liked many parts of it...
• women in STEM - we need more of these books!
• the location & setting - Hawaii is such a fun location for a book!
• the characters themselves - they both had so many strengths and in general were very enjoyable!
• the “must sleep in the same hotel room because the hotel is full” mixed with eventual one bed trope was hilarious!
However, the thing that drove me nuts for the entire book was the miscommunication, loose refusal to communicate, and something with the MMC that’s a spoiler. I kept reading because I wanted to know what happened, but this just annoyed me because it continued to cause problems for the entire book.
📍Hawaii & Illinois
✨Representation: Indian MC
‼️Content: sexism; racism; sexual harassment; workplace discrimination; microaggressions; misogyny; toxic relationship; gaslighting; bullying
