The Demigod Diaries is a collection of short stories focusing on the characters from both the Percy Jackson and the Olympians and The Heroes of Olympus series. The short stories are fast-paced and benefit from the classic Rick Riordan sense of humor. I appreciated how we got to learn a little bit more of the characters' backstories, and how these stories in turn influenced their arcs in the main series. The final story was written by Rick's son Haley and was a much darker take on the Percy Jackson universe. It was fun to see the reality of the devastation and evil nature of the monsters through the eyes of an adult mortal.

i love these short stories honestly, they give such a great insight into the lives of different demigods, and it was great to see into luke and thalia's past, as well as alabaster's point of view after the war, as those demigods aren't often represented in the books.
