Since this is basically a little anthology and I feel a very specific way toward every part of it, that´s exactly what I´m going to do: divide my review.

1. Luke Castellan´s Diary:
Listen, I know Luke had some valid points. That being said, I HATE his guts. He exasperates me, and maybe it´s the Percy in me, but I cannot stand the guy. Thalia is always welcomed, though, and so is little Annabeth. This was such a brutal way of starting the anthology.

2. Percy, Annabeth, and the Staff of Hermes:
My children are on a date! Well, almost. This was so fun and lovely. My boy is so whipped! I love how they complement each other and their skills. As usual, Percabeth clears.
ALSO, GEORGE AND MARTHA!!!!

3. Leo, Jason, Piper and Buford the Table:
It was nice to see Leo, Jason, and Piper at camp! This story was probably my least favorite, but I still liked it. Though it is important to highlight that Dionysus´ followers were the part that stuck with me the most when I read this nine years ago.

4. Son of Magic:
My, oh, my, Haley Riordan is present! I started reading Son of Magic and I was immediately impressed. The tone, the themes surrounding it, and the characters are all surprisingly mature and vicious! It was... kind of scary. I mean, now I´m a 21-year-old that loves horror, so it wasn´t scary per se, but that was definitely the vibe I got. I wanted to keep reading about Alabaster and Claymore! What a way to close up this book!

this book made me feel bad for Luke, which doesn't happen a lot, trust me.

I wanted to reread this for Luke's story and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. I think it adds a lot of depth to his character. I found it super interesting to see how similar Luke and Percy's internal monologue is. They think the same, but also don't. Obviously, its highlighting how Luke and Percy were always similar, and how Percy could've very well turned out like Luke; if his mindset fully shifted to the side of Kronos. If he had been the one to agree to become Kronos' right hand man, instead of Luke. I think Hal dying was always part of the beginning of the end for him. Baby Annabeth always breaks my heart here.

Also, sorry but the way Luke was talking about Thalia.. very much felt like he had a little crush on her, at least when they were younger. Not anything serious but. the writing reminded me a lot of how Percy talked about Annabeth before they officially got together. Anyways, this story has always been one of my favorites, from what the pjoverse companion novels had to offer.

Leo's short story felt like it could've offered way more. I loved going back to see more of bunker nine and Festus, even if it was only a glimpse. I liked reading about the mechanics and power behind the argo 2, even if it was something i had previously forgotten. although, I will never forget that the steering wheel is a god damn wii remote. I loved seeing Piper and Jason
(cries)
again. but the table being the whole plot point is where it felt flat for me IDK. I felt like a lot more could've been done.

Percy's story was always a cute one, even if they essentially got pressure washed with sewerage.... Anyways, Paris Percabeth date. Percabeth my beloved <3 no notes.

Son of Magic actually took me by surprise this reread. I had completely forgotten anything about it and I ate it up. Obviously this short story was published years ago now, but Haley is a talented writer. Sure there were parts where it felt a little clunky. But I found myself wishing we could've got a whole book for Alabaster. Claymore was insufferable, but that was the point. I loved his ending. I think it was needed to see this perspective, from someone on the side of Kronos after the war. How even though the war had been won on Percy's side, and he had made that wish for all demigods to be recognised, the gods were still failing demigods regardless.
