I’m interested enough to read the next book and I hope it takes off a bit from there. At the moment I’m feeling a bit like this book/series was over hyped but I can also see the appeal in it. I want to dislike Warner because he’s a bit skewed in the head to say the least but for some reason I am drawn to him. Adam on the other hand… I genuinely hate this dude and I don’t know why. He feels like a Dain (Fourth Wing reference) he just seems overly controlling, possessive, and passive aggressive in all the wrong ways and I don’t know why especially since he’s presented as our FMCs love interest and “savior”. Hopefully he either ends up being a Dain and goes away or has a personal growth arc. Secretly though I’m more so rooting for Warner to have a personal growth arc and become Juliette’s love interest. He has more potential in my personal opinion.

I recently read this book and my appreciation for have slightly gone down because I’m looking at this but from my point of you have someone who’s read the many books after it and it just really doesn’t compare. Juliet mine said this book is so damaged and I didn’t even really realize it completely while reading it and want to see your character development throughout it really shows. I see her and Adam’s relationship through new eyes and the entire book just seems to not even compare with the other books. I will say that reading this book with the cross outs is a whole different experience since I didn’t read with them the first time. The book was not as enjoyable with Juliet in such a vulnerable and innocent state but putting into consideration how much I adored this book when I first read it it can keep it’s 4 star rating.

Well that didn’t take me very long! Needless to say I was hooked & it was a quick read. I’m still a little confused about what’s going on in this world but I’m invested enough to want to keep reading. I liked the book but deducted a star because it does feel a little juvenile at times. Also some parts just felt a little too convenient… not sure if that’ll come into play later or if it’s just simple writing
