Thank you to the author for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
Flirtation or Faceoff by Leah Brunner is a charming, funny, and wholesome hockey romance. It is book two in the D.C. Eagles Hockey series but can be read as a standalone.
This book follows Colby, a former playboy hockey player, who’s a total sweetheart and Noel, a no-nonsense college professor who has a crush on a colleague.
Having read the first book in this series and loving it, I was excited to be back in this world of hockey players. I enjoyed how much the other players played a part in Colby and Noel’s story. They were a lot of fun, and I’m excited to read more about them in future books.
My favorite part of this book was Colby. He’s honestly so sweet and thoughtful. He was persistent with Noel without being creepy. I loved how charming he could be and how he kept calling Noel “Angel.”
Noel could be frustrating at times since I just couldn’t understand what she liked about her colleague, but overall, I did like her character. It was fun to see how well she and Colby balanced each other out.
Overall, I would recommend this book! If you like dating coaches, sports romances, swoony characters, Lord of the Rings and closed-door romances, I think you’d especially enjoy this book.
