This is what sci-fi should be about. Someone using their expertise to create the most in-depth worldbuilding. I didn't expect the author's zoology degree to be relevant, boy was I wrong. The human parts were good but it was the spider parts I was really invested in. I would tell my twin sister everything about how the spiders' society and biology are evolving. I didn't tell her much about the humans.

WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ?!?!?!?

This is genius. This is perfect. This is a must-read tbh.

I'm at a loss for words what this book has put me through and what it means to me. Can't believe I almost DNFed it at the very beginning (I admit, it is a little hard to get into). But I'm so glad I didn't because it quickly began to blow my mind and truthfully kept at it until the very last word.

This is solid hard Sci-fi but also one of the most epic, thought out and surprisingly emotional reads ever. It was worth every sciency passage that went over my head.

I want to talk about it for hours, analyze it, I want to compare it to so many things I love and found within it. But it's probably just best to go in there not knowing what to expect.

Fair warning: There are spiders. And I do not like spiders, so I was very conflicted. But I recommend to... just get over it and read the book nonetheless. I definitely don't regret it.
