Five stars
Intially I listened to Macbeth as an audio drama on BBC sounds. I enjoyed it and understood the general plot of the play but a lot went over my head too. However upon reading it I found my understanding greater.
This is the first work of Shakespeare I've read in it's entirety. Many phrases and sections of speech I fail to understand however most of the important dialogues make sense after being read twice.
I love the witches and Macduff. The tragedy of Macbeth being an over ambitious murdering prick is epic and still relavent today. I also enjoy how lady Macbeth couldn't live with what she had helped do to attain her husband's position.
Overall I would recommend Macbeth but warn readers to take the time to mull over the play and understand that it's hard to understand everything. I will also add the adaption into an audio drama I listened to (which had David Tennant as Macbeth) was very good and I would also recommend.

I'm in a pretty bad reading slump atm, so I figured listening to full cast recording of Macbeth might shake things up a little. And it did. The recording was great, the voice actors were really good.
Sadly it didn't really free me from the slumpiness right now, but it was fun nonetheless.

DID NOT FINISH

It was a reread anyway and I got bored.

Definitely a bit of a tougher read, as Shakespeare can be. But really beautiful poetry and when you really understand it is so amazing. An iconic tale of descent into tyranny. Act five is simply a masterpiece. So many well done themes and depth throughout.

Lady Macbeth. Scotland. Malcolm. Daggers. Thou. Me. Oh. My.

* = Read in school.
