This is a very good book.

There’s a lot to appreciate about a book that simply tells a story very well, and this is one such book.

I avoided it for a long time because I expected it to be sad and in the end I’m a bit surprised that I (even I) didn’t cry. It was worth confronting such sadness because it was the sort of book I couldn’t put down.

Some favorite lines:
“The world is not a wish-granting factory.”
“You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you.”

I read this book this Summer while on vacation. i will always remember this book as the book that had me sobbing while sitting at the resort pool, next to the waterslide. I bought this hardcover, but I wish I had bought it on my kindle because there were so many words I wanted to look up in the dictionary.

This book is depressing and sent me into a spiral. That being said, I was obsessed with this book as a 16 year old.

Well it was a perfectly good love story, but I just don't get the hype about this book. Yes it was good but I always had the feeling that it was written so it could be a movie, and that is not how a book should be. There were not many scenes and that means that only the most important things are in the book. I want all the small details. This book made me feel like I could just have watched the movie and that would have been the same as reading the book.

This book had been sitting on my tbr list, and probably would still be there if it hadn't been for a (not so subtle push to read it) Christmas gift from a friend.
And I'm so grateful for this present! This book was beautiful and funny and heartbreaking. Other John Green novels will definitely be moving their way up the tbr list.

un classique des années 2010, premières grosses larmes lâchées sur un livre<3 2014 me était obsessed

It is one of the most fantastic book I've read. I just love the way John Green narrates the story. He has done a phenomenal work. I like how he teaches new concepts in his novel and keep us intriguing - the John Greenish way. It kept me captivated for few weeks. I would always think about Hazel and Gus. I can't see a flaw in this book, it is absolutely incredible. Every one should read this book. Honestly I was reading this book and lost interest in the intial pages. Then after a long time I read this book and it's amazing. So anyone feels boring, please it isn't. There is a long way to go!!!
