Do I regret reading this series, no. However, the writing was very dull and spice was a 3/10 at best.

A bitter sweet farewell to the Marked Men and one of the best in the series!!
“When you allowed yourself to love and be loved, that was when life really started.”

Asa…oh that beautiful southern man….I have been waiting for Asa’s story for a long time. I have been intrigued by him from the very beginning, and the fact that he was the one to close out this series for us was perfect! To see his struggle and turnaround from the darkness into the light was great second hand, but to finally know it through his eyes was great. He’s blunt and straightforward, and sexy, but also learning about all the tenderness he has to offer too.
“I love you, Royal. I love you enough to live for you, to be awake for you, to be here in this moment as long as you are in it with me. I love you enough to let you know every little dirty secret I have and to tell you all the terrible things I have done and how those things left their marks on my soul. I love you in a way that makes me want to be more than I ever have been before, but I also love you enough to want to protect you from things that I know are going to hurt you. If you love me enough and trust me enough to let me keep those things from you for an eternity, then maybe we have a shot.”

I’ll be honest I have not liked Royal from the beginning, but because Asa seems to love her I’ll let it go and have some acceptance. In all honestly I liked her in this book, so I guess she has redeemed herself.
Although I got incredibly frustrated with this book at times, I LOVED it, every single page of it. Crownover gave us great closure to Asa’s journey, and a beautiful farewell to a series I have grown to love. I would say this was one of the best.
“We all had marks, some physical, some emotional, some that would never leave us, and many of those marks were of our own making as we all tried to get to the place we were supposed to be. Our marks defined us, separated us, and made us the men we were today….
We were marked and had been marked in unforgettable and forever ways. We were all better men for it. Marked men. None of us would have it any other way.”

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a good job. I liked the story and H/h.
Not the best ending to the series. I enjoyed it enough, but I didn't fall for Asa. He just seemed a bit blah and vanilla after the colorful and exciting Rowdy.
Asa's and Royal's love story was one about second chances and forgiveness - that is, forgiving yourself of past mistakes and being able to give yourself the chance at happiness. The cop and the con artist were very different, but still so alike and I liked seeing how they complemented each other, although they didn't grab me hard like some of the other couples in this series. I just didn't connect with either Cross sibling, really.
I still loved catching up with gang though, and I'm very excited for the spin-off series. I'm not ready to let them go.

I really enjoyed this book.
I loved both Asa and Royal from the first time I met them. And together they were even better.
I did really did that they might not get their HEA. Thankfully I was wrong.
Why not 5 stars? Characters introduced and talked about a lot; their stories open ended for a spinoff. I get why. But still. Will I read the next series? While I loved most of the Marked men, The Point Series though I greatly disliked. So we'll wait and see.
