I don’t usually read historical fantasy but this was Feb’s book club read. I didn’t hate it, I was intrigued more once the conflict picked up and read it right through in 4 days. I do not think it needed the first 1/3 of the story and the talking horses read a little too  "American girl" horsey fantasy-y for my liking. I won't be reading the others.
