This book is pretty slow . And there are a lot of unusual Russian names and terms which were hard to keep track of throughout the book. But i loved the ending so I’m considering reading the rest of the series .

I don't have time for much of a review tonight, and I'm ready to move on.
I enjoyed The Bear and the Nightingale - especially the fairy tale, folklore aspect and imagery.
While I felt a strong build in the beginning of the book, the story fell flat for me in the second half. The plot felt repetitive and lost its magic. Nevertheless, I was glad to read Arden's work, which is part of a genre I don't often explore.
