This book is absolutely terrible and probably the reason we have an entire generation of humans who give and give and give until we have nothing left to give for people who never give anything back and take us for granted. I will absolutely never be reading this to my child. Absolute garbage.

The thing with this book is that it is impossible to rate. And there is no way of explaining your feelings towards it. "The giving tree" simply is.
Maybe you could evaluate it if it brought something new or was eye-opening. But it is not. It is common knowledge. Perhaps even basis of humanity.
Nothing extraordinary.
I do understand why one might praise it or disapprove of. Still I find it unnecessary.

Dispiriting.

A book about a boy and his tree.

I have been meaning to read this book for some time now, and finally I had time (and motivation) to do it. For my copy cat challenge one of my partners (I have 2!) read this book. I was quite curious about how a tree and a boy have a relationship/friendship.

Review to come tomorrow.
