"Let's work on tomorrow first"

That quote is everything! Let's not focus on forever but focus on tomorrow. I know for me that has always been hard. I always plan so far ahead in life and then everything blows up in my face. With that mini tirade aside, Truelife was a very satisfying conclusion to this trilogy. Each book has been a rollercoaster of an adventure and this one was no different. Jay Kristoff. I seriously don't know how you are able to create so many great stories that follow a certain theme and still have them be so fresh.

The best thing about Truelife and the whole series for that matter is and always has been Lemon Fresh! I STAN THIS GIRL!!! The entire cast though is everything. I love my trash children so much. I enjoyed how everyone was utilized in this finale. I didn't want to see any of my children perish, but I know in these kind of stories someone needs to die and the ones that didn't make it, hurt me. This finale was pretty much all out war from beginning to end. It was rough.

The Lifelike trilogy in the end is probably not my favorite completed series by Jay Kristoff but it is still fantastic and highly recommend you pick this series up. Sad to see it go but I am ready for the next Jay Kristoff book to RIP ME TO SHREDS!

I never finished the trilogy and finally decided to and it was ok. Luckily, I remembered a good portion to go into this after a long time so no rereads needed!

The conclusion to the trilogy wasn’t bad. I enjoyed the book and it kept my interest. It ended the way I thought it might.
I was surprised not more main characters ended up dying.
The Lifelikes story is an interesting concept and I liked learning about them.

Lemon definitely still is my favorite character with Cricket coming in right behind her. I didn’t really care for Eve at all after Book 1 and Ezekiel was fine. I was neutral on him.

I was slightly surprised (in a good way) by the Lifel1k3 series. I won't remember it as one of my favorites, but I definitely liked it more than I thought I would. Truel1f3 finished the series on a strong note. The overarching plot really changed as did the characters over the course of the three books. This wasn't always a good thing. I went from really liking Eve to not being able to stand her. On the other hand, I went from not caring about Lemon to her being one of the my favorite characters.

But enough about the series as a whole. Focusing just on Truel1f3, this book was exciting, dramatic, and the perfect length. I liked the relationships and friendships that formed over the chapters, and the plot really grabbed my attention. However, at times I felt like there were too many different subplots going on at a time. Also, I wish the book would've added at the start of each chapter whose POV we were currently reading. All in all, I found Truel1f3 to be a good conclusion to the trilogy.

Overall, I love the trilogy. This was my least favorite of the three, but it was still a great read! I loved so many of the characters - Lemon, Cricket, Abraham. My main complaint about the book was Eve - a redemption arc is fine, and I always appreciate a good one, but I wasn’t feeling it here. I LOVED that the author had her go bad and join the lifelikes in book 2, and she spent most of book 3 continuing to follow that path, and I was glad to see it! But then we got the 11th hour redemption, and it felt hollow and unearned. Like my son said “she was so evil and did so many horrible things, but she’s picking up recycling at the end, so I guess that’s a thing?” And as much as I love a redemption arc, I love an author being brave enough to write a good character fallen to evil and seeing it through to the end EVEN MORE.

Another issue - admittedly small, but as it happened right at the climax of the book, it really stuck out. Why didn’t Lemon’s power work on Gabriel? I can’t remember there being any previous hint that it wouldn’t, and it seems like the lifelikes have electricity as part of their makeup like everything else. Electricity certainly seemed to work on Eve while she was a prisoner of Daedalus. Sure, they’re “life LIKE”, as Gabriel said, but that doesn’t explain it. It was a really jarring sour note in an otherwise awesome crescendo.

Those aside, I enjoyed this a lot. Kristoff has yet to let me down!

This was a great ending to the series. It was fast-paced, full of action, told from all the different angles, but also contained some reflecting moments. Life lessons, if that's what you want to call it. The evolution of every single character to their full potential was well worked out. I really enjoyed every second of this book.

The only "bad" thing to say, I can come up with, is that I was wrecked about what happened to my favorite character.
