A handful of the jokes are a bit problematic nowadays, but the vast majority ring true of the little relatable things in life/liff (which also gets its own definition, by the way). Quick and fun.

Totally hilarious, I read the whole thing straight through during a slow day at work. If you don't enjoy the humor of Hitchhiker's guide (like my poor girlfriend who will have to listen to me spouting favorite definitions for the next few days), then this may not be for you. Douglas Adams is a master of incongruity, of a deeply absurd, lightly terrifying kind of humor (terrifying when you actually reflect on how real many of the people he names in here actually are).

'The Meaning of Liff' was a really good incentive for me to crack on with revision, as I read it during my breaks as a reward! It's full of Adams' silly, fantastic humour and is a very enjoyable read.

Only on page 11 and find that I can safely and assuredly rate 'The Meaning of Liff' 5 out of 5. Pure humour, pure quintessential Britishness and pure, unadulterated Douglas Adams.

Funny? Yeah. But also heteronormative and not at all class-conscious, with a few remnants of colonial arrogance.

Douglas Adams is amazing as expected. It can get a little tiresome to read this book straight through, but I think it's fantastic for random flipping. I was very impressed with how well Adams and Lloyd seemed to know the random scenarios/things which could use definitions.
