firstly, i must say i am glad that i read this because it's important to know about things like HIV, i never really gave it much thought before slince my love life is nonexistent, but god. i feel so much better understanding this and knowing that if i ever encounter it in real life i won't be ignorant and hurtful to others.

secondly, i simply loved the book. could not put it down, was absolutely excited for every chapter, would not stop thinking about how much i was enjoying this! the characters, the plot development, the emotions i've felt during these few hours — everything was just perfect.

a definite five-star, i'm a little bit in love with it

This was a good YA about HIV in Brazil, I think it being YA meant it lacked the sort of depth I am used to but overall a good read.

An informative and heartfelt look at the lives of 3 young men in Brazil living with or supporting the people they love who have HIV. I felt that primarily this book was focussed on removing the stigmas and prejudices surrounding HIV, particularly in terms of what HIV positive relationships can look like nowadays thanks to existing medications.
I thought the range of characters we were introduced to were very sweet and clearly displayed to the reader a variety of thoughts and feelings about a HIV positive diagnosis. On the other hand, I struggled to remember which of the guys was which - and what their relationships were with each other. And the plot didn't really go anywhere? I looked up at the halfway mark to discover that really we were still just talking about how we all knew each other.
Not going to be a top book of the year by any means, but also an insightful look into a topic I don't know so much about.
