This was spectacular. Very raw and real. I would also recommend listening to the episode of Dua Lipa’s Service 95 podcast episode with the author. It really added to what I got from the book.

I really enjoyed this book but I’m realizing now that other women might not have because it was advertised to them as some sort of think piece or insight on female desire. Sure, there were definitely passages I read and reread because I couldn’t believe that it was coming from another woman and not the deepest, darkest parts of my psyche, but honestly it’s nothing more than a juicy (and at times devastating) read.

Although I am still not entirely sure what to make of this one, I can’t stop thinking about it days later. I saw myself in parts of each of these women and am left contemplating what that says about girl and womanhood, and my daughter’s future as a female out in the world.
