An eye opening read that deconstructs assumptions in society that minimize the visibility and agency of breast cancer survivors, and examines broader patriarchal trends of oppression. Lorde’s writing and observations are insightful and well formed. Part three in particular is well worth reading and has many passages that deserve to be committed to memory.
