I love Carli as a player and give her all the props for her amazing career that is now coming to end. Unfortunately did not love the book. It is a play-by-play of the games up til 2016 written in present tense, and while I played soccer through high school myself, I did not enjoy this style. I wanted her to delve into more of her personal life and background. There's a mysterious fight with her parents that she does not flesh out and it is just confusing for readers. It took me a long time to finish because I just could not get into it.

Listened as it was on my shelf from Ivy. Amazing player and cool to learn if her incredible drive and dedication. Narrator was AWFUL - sounded like she was reading actuarial tables. Read this on the page if you’re gonna.

Carli Lloyd is known for her soccer prowess, but most people don't know that she almost quit soccer when she got cut from a U-21 team. She tells her story about her love of the sport from the time she was a young girl to the woman she is now. She talks about her hard work and determination, her struggles and her successes. She is also very frank about the issues she faced with teammates and coaches as well as with her own family. The writing is not the best, but those with a passion for soccer will enjoy it.
